Henrietta Hudson
Bar Renovation
At the end of 2020, after completing the Lesbian Bar Project PSA, Lisa Cannistraci, the owner of the iconic Lesbian Bar—Henrietta Hudson—asked me to come on board as the Project Manager of the bar's physical renovation, business revamp, and social media rebrand.
Due to the pandemic, the bar closed its doors to the public for more than a year, but Lisa didn't let that keep her down. It took a while for packed dance clubs to come back in full swing, so we adapted the business model from a crowded nightclub to a spacious, airy lounge for the community to gather safely.

We re-opened Henrietta as a cross between a living room and a petite cafe dressed in mid-century modern color palettes, featuring comfy chairs, plush ottomans, work nooks, and a dining area. Along with these interior upgrades, we also added a stylish outdoor enclave for guests to enjoy, a new charcuterie bar, and a revitalized cocktail menu. It was Henrietta's 30th Birthday, so we decided to dress it up a bit.
After six months of remodeling, Henrietta Hudson reopened its doors in June 2021, just in time for Pride.

The Process
After a year of isolation and hardship, Google joined the fight and started a campaign to support LGBTQ+ spaces and businesses on the road to recovery.
Henrietta Hudson, Lisa, and I were featured in the commercial along with 16 other spaces.
Henrietta Hudson is still the longest-running lesbian bar in the country, and we reintroduced the space as
A Queer Human Bar built by Lesbians
